New Orleans Wine & Food Experience Bigger Than Ever
With the main “Grand
Tasting” festivities moved to the floor of the huge Louisiana Superdome,
the 2008 version of the New Orleans Wine & Food Experience (NOWFE) was
bigger and better than ever. New Orleans, food, and drink certainly make
for a tasty ménage à trois, so it’s only logical that
that a wine and food festival in the Big Easy would go over easily with chefs,
wine experts, and attendees. Spanning five flavorful days each May (2009
dates are May 19-23), NOWFE takes full advantage of the city’s long
heritage of great food--with local celebrity chefs like John Besh, Tory McPhail,
Susan Spicer, and many others being joined by equally talented chefs from
around the world. Two “Grand Tastings”, vintner dinners, cooking
competitions, and a rollicking “Krewe of Cork” parade through the
French Quarter are highlights of this perennial “top ten” food
and wine festival.
