Blowing Rock, NC -- A Destination for all Seasons
Blowing
Rock is a unique, year-round mountain destination in North Carolina’s
“High Country.” At 4,000 feet in elevation, it sits astride the
Eastern Continental Divide, just off the fabled Blue Ridge Parkway,
and—from the top of Blowing Rock (yes, there really is one)—there
are commanding views of gorgeous mountain scenery.
A visit to Blowing Rock is a time-honored destination, replete with high-end retail shops, unique restaurants, upscale retreats and charming inns, renowned artists and cultural events, verdant cottage gardens and trails—all in close proximity to exhilarating outdoor adventures and parks.
Activities like hiking, canoeing, horseback riding, mountain and road cycling, rock climbing, fishing and hunting are close at hand and available throughout the seasons, along with skiing in the winter.
Within easy Parkway driving
distance are many outdoor attractions including Grandfather Mountain, Tweetsie
Railroad, Linville Caverns, Mystery Hill, and the college town of Boone.

Celebrating it 75th anniversary in 2010, the Blue Ridge Parkway passes just outside town. The Blue Ridge National Heritage Area's Go Blue Ridge Card is a multi-attraction pass that provides discounts and special offers at venues large and small throughout the 25 county region.
