Acapulco ready to compete as premier golf destination

Long celebrated for its abundance of varied accommodations, watersports, exciting nightlife, and more, Acapulco is now successfully luring golfers as a premier destination on and off the links.

With four popular 18-hole layouts (including the new Tres Vidas) and a fun nine-hole course directly across from the Convention Center, Acapulco is saying ‘si’ to golfers in search of pars south of the border.

The complete story

“There are many people for whom a vacation without golf is not really a vacation,” says Ramon Lujan, general director of the Acapulco Convention & Visitors Bureau. “Here in Acapulco, the playground to the world, our visitors can take solace in knowing that exceptional courses are available to them.”

That availability was enhanced greatly by the addition of newly-built Tres Vidas Golf & Country Club. This magnificent beachfront championship course was designed by hot architect Robert Von Hagge and features magnificent Pacific views as play progresses along the edge of the ocean.

Along with Tres Vidas and the tempting nine holes across from the Convention Center (what’s better than a ‘meeting’ on the fairways?), other Acapulco options include the Mayan Palace, the Pierre Marques Hotel, and the Acapulco Princess. In keeping with the destination’s “Beautification Program,” all of the golf courses meet the highest standards of design and maintenance, from the clubhouse to the 18th tee.

Of course, Acapulco’s nearly perfect year-round weather insures that golfers rarely have to worry about rain. Along with great golf and weather, other Acapulco lures continue to be the pristine beaches, varied accommodations, and a wide array of other attractions.
