Florida’s PGA National better than ever

PGA National Resort & Spa is better than ever, on and off the links. For females, it’s just in time for the November and December Ladies Only Golf Schools.

One of very few stand-alone golf destinations offering 90 holes of owned and operated championship golf, PGA National just completed a multi-million dollar renovation of virtually all parts of the resort.

The complete story

Over the past year, the resort completed a major renovation project that included newly refurbished guestrooms, a complete redo of the lobby, the refurbishment of the vast conference center and public areas, and the addition of the Bear Trap Bar & Grille.

The guestrooms took on a brighter ambiance, with marble foyers, neutral shades, teak furnishings, antique light fixtures, full-length mirrors, high-back poster beds, and overstuffed easy chairs.

Replete with comfortable lounge areas and casual nooks with couches and chairs, the new lobby is the perfect place to enjoy the resort’s surroundings. Marble and granite flooring, crystal chandeliers, and dark mahogany woodwork provide a sophisticated feel. Similar enhancements were recently completed for the 33,900-square-foot conference center and surrounding public areas.

The Bear Trap Bar & Grille is a golf-themed sports bar concept integrating the history of golf at PGA National Resort & Spa and traditional American Cuisine. The restaurant honors the Champion Golf Course’s 15th, 16th, and 17th holes, which are among the most challenging in golf and were dubbed “The Bear Trap” by Jack Nicklaus during his practice round for the 1993 PGA Seniors Championship.

Aside from offering a wide range of American cuisine and 11 beers on tap, the Bear Trap is a photography gallery replete with images of famous golfers playing the Champion and major golf events at the resort. Additionally, the restaurant and bar televises national sporting events and other broadcasts on 11 televisions.

Females who want to enjoy the new resort and improve their games at the same time should check out the Ladies Only Golf Schools slated for November 3-5 and December 1-3. Every level of player is welcome, with the schools focusing on teaching and reinforcing skills, including individualized instruction on the driving range and golf course.

Located in Palm Beach Gardens, just 15 miles from Palm Beach International Airport, PGA National Resort & Spa features five golf courses, world-class spa and fitness facilities, varied guest rooms and cottages, eight restaurants, and full meeting facilities.
