Vermont golf school offers largely expanded lineup
Vermonts popular Stratton Golf School expanded its lineup of programs this summer, providing even more reason to get there before the snow does.
New sessions added this season have included those for the Players School for low handicapper, a new three-day school, and a Womens Only program.
The complete story
The Stratton Golf Schools training facility was designed specifically for golf instruction, giving visiting golfers a chance to practice every shot from tee to green. Along with the new programs, recent additions include trouble-shot improvement grounds (e.g., bunkers and rough), a covered hitting area, expanded air-conditioned classrooms, and a video analysis system.
The most specialized new program is the two-day Players School. It is available on Thursday to Friday to players carrying a USGA handicap of 23 or less. The program features a three-to-one student-to-pro ratio, with six hours of instruction and 18 holes of golf, with an instructor, on Strattons championship course.
The Womens Only session is set for September 11-13, with six hours of instruction each day, plus three hours of on-course teaching. The new three-day schools keys are three hours of on-course instruction and a take-home video with a split screen for comparison between the students swing and that of a pro.
The Stratton teaching philosophy has evolved from a clear understanding of the fundamentals of the swing. While recognizing that each swing is unique, they work with each Stratton Golf School participant to build on the basics shared by all great players. A low student-to-teacher ratio guarantees individualized attention, centering on the core elements of grip, impact position, posture, tempo, and balance. Video analysis, including stop-action work, along with course management and short game strategy shave strokes off students games.
The Stratton Mountain Country Club is a challenging and scenic 27-hole layout thats been a six-year stop on the LPGA Tour. The Green Mountains of Vermont provide a dramatic backdrop for the entire resort, which also features miles of hiking, tennis, horseback riding, mountain biking, and a variety of accommodations options.
