New ‘golf experience’ at Boca is becoming to all visiting duffers

The Boca Raton Resort & Club golf experience is more becoming than ever, thanks to a $10 million enhancement project that included major redesigns and renovations for both resort courses, as well as the addition of the Nicklaus/Flick Golf School and a new Learning Center for the Dave Pelz Short Game School.

In addition, the legendary Boca resort also recently added privileges at a course nearby in Fort Lauderdale. Originally called Rolling Hills, the newly-named Grande Oaks Golf Club was made famous as the course in ‘Caddyshack.’

The complete story

With all of this reconstruction, renovations, and additions, the Boca Raton Resort & Club once again provides one of the premier resort golf experiences in the U.S.

“Not only are skilled players going to enjoy the courses, but weekend duffers and beginners are also going to have some of the most enjoyable rounds they’ve ever played,” said Bob Coman, director of golf for the resort. “If their game needs a little fine tuning, the resort is the only destination in the world to offer both the Nicklaus/Flick Golf School and the Dave Pelz Short Game Golf School.”

The Country Club Course refurbishment entailed a comprehensive redesign of each greens complex and the addition of several tees and new greenside bunkers. Overseen by acclaimed course designer Gene Bates, the Resort Course underwent complete reconstruction of each hole, as well as new water features and elevation changes. The layout was originally built in 1926 by the fabled William Flynn, with the likes of Sam Snead and Tommy Armour heading the golf program over the years.

The resort recently opened the private Grande Oaks Golf Club, which ‘starred’ in the hit Chevy Chase film. However, Boca Raton Resort & Club guests are extended privileges to the club.

Finally, the changes at the resort included the addition of the Nicklaus/Flick Golf School, with a variety of courses available, and a new Learning Center for the separate Dave Pelz Short Game School. Thus, whether it’s simply to play or work on specific aspects of the game, the new golf experience will accommodate everyone.

Located in the heart of Florida’s famed Gold Coast, in Palm Beach County, the Boca Raton Resort & Club is one of America’s finest resort golf destinations. The resort’s amenities include championship golf, 30 tennis courts, several pools, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a half-mile stretch of private beach, a 25-slip full-service marina, a variety of watersports, a selection of dining options, and a full range of other activities, including a comprehensive children’s program.
