Scottsdales redesigned Camelback Golf Club unveiled
Marriotts Camelback Inn just reopened the newly redesigned Camelback Golf Club. The $16 million course and club represents Marriotts largest single golf course investment.
As the most significant golf course investment in the history of the company, the course represents an entirely new standard for Marriott golf worldwide, though the chain does feature many top golf resorts.
The complete story
The project features a complete redesign of the Resort Course (formerly the Padre course) by renowned golf course architect Arthur Hills, who has designed more than 150 new courses and renovated another 100, including classics like Inverness, Oakmont, and Oakland Hills. Also included is a renovated practice range and a new expanded clubhouse, pro shop, and restaurant.
The golfing experience at the new Resort Course is very unique to golf-crazy Scottsdale and the entire southwest. Instead of a typical desert setting found at most courses in the area, this course features a parkland setting, with large mature trees and lush green turf.
The renovated layout is a classic golf course, with strategic bunkering, traditional square tees, and very subtle land forms. Every hole features a new green, tees, and bunkers. While some holes maintain their original routing, others have been newly routed to increase overall playability. In addition to lengthening the course by 368 yards, three new lakes have been added to create extra beauty and challenge.
Situated just 20 minutes from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, Marriotts Camelback Inn offers one of the finest golf experiences in the region, including another 18 holes of championship golf at the Club Course, 453 rooms and suites, three swimming pools, six tennis courts, a fitness center and spa, jogging, biking, and much more.
