NEW ORLEANS WINE & FOOD
EXPERIENCE THRIVES IN 2008

With the main Grand Tasting festivities moved to the floor of the huge Louisiana Superdome, the 17th annual New Orleans Wine & Food Experience (NOWFE) was splashier than ever. Spanning five action-packed days each May (2009 dates are May 19-23), NOWFE takes full advantage of the city’s heritage of great food by featuring local celebrity chefs like John Besh and Tory McPhail, as well as other culinary greats from around the globe. Two Grand Tastings, vintner dinners, cooking competitions, and a rollicking “Krewe of Cork” parade through the French Quarter are highlights of this perennial “top ten” wine and food festival. This year, 75 local chefs and 1000 vintages were showcased. The event is co-sponsored by Wine Enthusiast Magazine.
