DELICIOUS DEGREES OF DIFFERENCE
Windstar Cruises Enhances an Already Incredible Dining Experience

This spring, when Windstar Cruises completed the Degrees of Difference(TM) campaign for the line’s three luxurious motor sailing yachts, the added amenities and enhancements made a cruise with Windstar "180 degrees from the ordinary" in every way.

The line focused on the five areas of the Windstar experience that anchor a cruise on each of the line’s three ships: accommodations, service, dining, destinations, and activities. Windstar’s casual elegance--combined with incredible dining experiences--is now better than ever.

BON APPETIT

Windstar’s “Signature Cuisine” created celebrity chef menus and a relaxed attitude toward attire and seating--all of which have been emulated in much of the cruising world. Dining on a Windstar cruise has always been a highlight, but Degrees of Difference(TM) enhancements have taken sevens seas cuisine to a new level.

Building on a groundbreaking relationship established with celebrity chef Joachim Splichal more than ten years, ago, Windstar is sailing into new culinary horizons with an expanded wine list, course-by-course in-room dining, 100 tasty new menu items from Splichal, and more.

Splichal’s new creations include possibilities like spicy tomato soup and fried crab beignets; lamb rack with short-rib-mushroom-risotto stuffed onion, minted zucchini, and roasted carrots; and seared snapper with oven-drive tomatoes, caperberries, nicoise olives, roasted fennel, and creamy rice.

As a fitting new “stage” for Splichal’s latest masterpieces, fine Rosenthal china, Riedel stemware, and luxurious linens were added to the Windstar’s dining room tabletops aboard each ship. In addition, new and delightful dinner details include: an amuse bouchee (little bite), compliments of the chef; a tableside selection of exotic fine cheeses (many bought fresh in local markets), served from new specially-designed cheese carts; and a tray of petit fours with coffee.

To complement the meal, Windstar’s wine program has wine lovers cheering. The new “Reserve” wine list features small boutique labels coveted by connoisseurs, exclusive private reserves, hard-to-find vintages. In addition, local wines purchased in ports by Windstar staff on certain ships’ itineraries can now be enjoyed onboard.

SAY OUI TO BISTRO

The experience and menu in the popular Bistro aboard the Wind Surf were also enhanced as part of the “Degrees of Difference” initiative. The Bistro's ambiance was enhanced by adding a rich new burgundy color scheme. New Rosenthal china and Schott Zwiesel stemware also add to the experience.

Windstar Cruises also asked Chef Splichal to create a new steak house menu--resulting in tempting entrees such as grilled marinated hanger steak; crispy skin half-chicken rubbed with French mustard; and grilled herb marinated Atlantic salmon. In addition, the Bistro is now offering Italian, French, and Indonesian menus on rotating nights.

Given all of these enhancements to the dining experience, 1"80 degrees from the ordinary" is obviously the right oven setting!
