ENHANCING THE EXPERIENCE
WINDSTAR CRUISES PROVIDE SERVICE AND AMENITIES "180 DEGREES FROM
ORDINARY"
Setting sail in 1986, Windstar
Cruises set a course "180 Degrees from Ordinary" to provide a refreshing
alternative to the typical cruise or resort vacation. Seeing the world from
a romantic sailing ship, Windstar guest enjoy luxurious accommodations,
personalized service, extraordinary dining, inspired activities, and dream
destinations.
Now, Windstar Cruises is improving its already exceptional experience. Degrees of Difference encompasses a series of on-board enhancements (to be completed in spring of 2006) being introduced on each of the line's three ships. Together, these changes make sailing with Windstar more extraordinary than ever.
FLUFFY PILLOWS AND FLAT PANELS
Windstar's casual elegance--combined with cutting edge amenities--is now better than ever. The luxurious accommodations aboard all three ships may lead to guests frequently pursuing profound exploration of their pillows (and staterooms in general). That could be because of luxurious Euro-top mattresses covered with high thread count Egyptian cotton linens--as well as many more stateroom superlatives.
Recent Degrees of Difference changes also make non-napping time enjoyable as well. Bath amenities from LOccitane en Provence carry scents straight out of the south of France of yesteryear. Waffle terry spa robes embrace guests with their softness. Soothing citrus and sage potpourri fills staterooms with a sensuous smell.
Windstar accommodations are also firmly in the 21st century. Enhancements to the in-room entertainment experience include flat-panel LCD TV's, DVD players, and hundreds of varied DVDs from which to choose. The staterooms also feature the Bose in-room SoundDock digital music system. Guests are able to check out a new iPOD Nanos--loaded with a custom play list--of bring their own iPod or MP3 player for an even more personal entertainment experience.
SORBET IN THE SUN, ANYONE?
Windstar has long been recognized for having one of the highest staff-to-guest ratios in the cruise industry. But the on-board personnel never rely on a simple math equation when it comes to providing personalized service.
Recent enhancements to Windstars already upscale service include icy cool towels topside, and--for further refreshment--an offering of sorbet in the sun. The line's acclaimed cuisine is accented by little dining touches such as course-by-course stateroom dining and tableside apres dinner cheese service.
Other service enhancements appeal to the mind, rather than the stomach. The new Wireless on Windstar program has made all three ships completely wireless. Those who dont want to bring their own computer can take advantage of Windstar's Leave Your Laptop at Home option.
Windstar staff members seem to share the uncanny ability for remembering guest names, as well as favorite drinks. And the exceptional sense to know when service means allowing each guest the space to create their own "Degree of Difference".
