DESTINATIONS & ACTIVITIES THE WINDSTAR WAY
This spring, when Windstar
Cruises completed the Degrees of Difference(TM) campaign
for the lines three luxurious motor sailing yachts, the added amenities
and enhancements made a cruise with Windstar "180 degrees from Ordinary:
in every way.
The line focused on the five areas of the Windstar experience that anchor a cruise on each of the lines three ships: accommodations, service, dining, destinations, and activities. Windstars casual elegance--combined with incredible itineraries and activities--is now better than ever.
DIVERSE DESTINATIONS
Thanks to the size and nature of Windstars three motor sailing yachts, the line is well known for traveling off the beaten path on itineraries from the Mediterranean, Amalfi Coast, and Greek Isles to the Aegean Sea, the Caribbean, Costa Rica, and even further afield.
In many destinations, Windstar has created a mixture of non-repeating seven-day itineraries that have been designed to allow for 14-day voyages without repeating ports of call. Itineraries have also been adjusted for later departures and more overnights in ports, so lucky Windstar guests get to enjoy more time for shore excursions, shopping, and nightlife.
For instance, in the Mediterranean, Windstar calls on smaller exotic ports like Ceuta, in Spanish Morocco, and seafood havens like Sete, France. And while other ships typically leave ports by early-evening, Windstar sometimes stays overnight--in places like Ibiza, where the nightlife is world-famous.
Taking the adventure from ship to shore, the diverse destinations of Windstar itineraries mean passengers can take a panoramic flight over Provence, sail a catamaran off a quiet Caribbean island, raft down the Corobici River in Costa Rica, and pursue many more adventures not possible from larger cruise ships.
ACTIVITIES THE WINDSTAR WAY
From relaxation to exhilaration, activities aboard a Windstar ship are better than ever. New hammocks on the flying bridges of all three ships have space for two and are already prime spots for relaxing under billowing sails. In addition, the wide teak decks serve as huge verandahs to enjoy the scenery, read a book, or take a nap.
Further relaxation and rejuvenation can be found in the WindSpa aboard the Wind Surf. From the use of massage techniques from around the world to seaweed wraps in the Aromaspa Ocean Wrap, trained therapists soothe aching muscles.
Many of the muscles might ache thanks to Windstars wonderful water world. At anchor, the water sports platform is lowered from the Marina Deck--turning a pristine lagoon into a private water park. Active cruisers can take advantage of Windstars complimentary waters sports activities like kayaking, sailing, wind surfing, water skiing, and snorkeling. Scuba diving is also offered to veteran and brand new divers.
Given all of these options, "180 degrees from Ordinary" means simply extraordinary destinations and activities.
