Las Vegas has fun new daily fee layout

Las Vegas visitors are raving about the fun city’s new public layout, Siena Golf Club. Designed to be fun by the Lee Schmidt/Brian Curley design duo, the course and club offer golfers a friendly welcome and a chance to record a good round.

The complete story

“I think a good description of the Siena course is that it’s fun to play, but not overly easy,” says Lee Schmidt. “While the course has some bit and personality to it, we’ve purposely not made it a backbreaker.”

Opened just last year, the layout does feature a long outward nine, intimidating bunkers, and some tough pin placements. There’s an island green, views of the famed Vegas Strip on several holes, and Schmidt’s favorite, the bunker-heavy 10th. The 14th is one of the prettiest holes, with deep bunkers in the foreground and the rugged mountains to the rear of the hole.

The ‘original’ Siena in the Tuscany region of Italy is known for its warm welcome, but this golf club is striving for a similar reputation. The inscription on the Porta de Camollia entrance says, “Siena opens up its heart more than any other place.” Those are words of welcome to any golfer looking for an enjoyable round.
