It's hard to believe, but Alaska is one of the hottest cruise ship destinations in the world. Few other cruise ship destinations offer so much sheer scenic beauty, unique ports of call, and stunning shore excursions. This summer, many seniors will fall in love with Alaska on a Princess Love Boat or with another cruise line, but you need to make reservations soon. Alaska is hot this summer.

An Alaska cruise can make for a special summer vacation. Ports of call like Ketchikan, Sitka, Juneau, and Skagway provide passengers with an inside look at life in Alaska. Beautiful cruising areas like Glacier Bay National Park, Hubbard Glacier, and College Fjord make for awe-inspiring days at sea. There is also a wide variety of shore excursions, including salmon bakes, historic train rides, helicopter tours, glacier visits, and many other fascinating opportunities. In addition, Alaska is the perfect place to for pre- and post-cruise packages.

Of course, a cruise comes with an enjoyable on-board experience that has made the cruise industry one of the fastest-growing segments in travel. Highlights include: a wide variety of cabin accommodations; impeccable service; delectable dining; professional entertainment; fitness facilities; and the many cruise ship special activities that make cruising so popular with seniors.

As is typical with many cruise lines operating in Alaska, Princess Cruises has expanded their summer cruise itineraries in Alaska for 1995. This continues Princess's leading position in Alaska, with more cruise itineraries, more ships, and more departure dates than any other line.

Six Princess Love Boat ships will offer a total of 102 sailings on seven different cruise itineraries, with the line increasing its popular Gulf of Alaska cruises by 25 percent. Four ships will be dedicated to the popular "Voyage of the Glaciers" Gulf of Alaska itinerary, which is offered by many lines. One ship will offer seven-day Inside Passage cruises and another ship will be based in San Francisco for a new 12-day roundtrip Inside Passage schedule.

The added Gulf of Alaska sailings will enable Princess to provide passengers with more glacier viewing opportunities than any other cruise line. This, coupled with the spectacular wildlife and natural beauty for which the area is renowned, will provide cruise ship passengers with an incredible Alaska experience.
