Bonaire Shore Diving
Diving
straight from shore is special...you don't even need a boat to reach a great
dive site. Located just 50 miles off Venezuela's coast, Bonaire boasts some
of the best and most plentiful shore diving in the world.
Many sites off Bonaire's west coast are accessible directly from dive operator and resort docks, where you can often see the reef drop-off from your room. Numerous resorts, which cater to divers, make shore diving simple.
This underwater wonderland is all part of Bonaire Marine Park, established in 1979 to protect the entire area surrounding Bonaire and nearby Klein Bonaire down to 200 feet. The result is one of the healthiest and most colorful reef systems in the world.
Some top shore dives in Bonaire include Small Wall, Town Pier, Bari, Front Porch, Calabas, Salt Pier, and Lighthouse. Of course, the boat diving is equally awe-inspiring and reef-saving moorings mark all sites.
